Chapter 210 Her Threat Backfires (1)
Abbie had been sitting in the car for quite a while before her heartbeat finally slowed down.
In theory, as a journalist, no matter what she had captured or learned, she should have remained unflappable, as steady as a rock.
But in reality, Abbie’s academic performance at Rayvale- Communication University was not outstanding.
Rose was right, her college entrance exam scores were indeed quite low back then. It was her father who went through special channels to satisfy her wish to pursue Darrin, enabling her to attend Rayvale Communication University and become classmates with Darrin.
Later, the postgraduate recommendation was also covertly replaced using other resources.
After graduating from Rayvale Communication University, Abbie went to the Finance Department of Flourish Media. Although it was said that she started from the bottom, in reality, everything was done for her. Various news materials were hand–fed to her.
Thus, Abbie’s mental strength was far from enough to support her bearing even slightly intense breaking news alone.
Thinking about everything she had just captured, Abbie forced herself to calm down, then took out her phone and sent the earliest blurry photo she had taken with her phone to Luther.
“Mr. Sullivan, hello, guess what good stuff I captured?”
She had Luther’s number and could text him.
After about three minutes, Luther called back.
“Who are you?” His voice sounded very calm.
But Abbie knew, he must have been very nervous.
“I am the woman you just drove away.” Abbie’s heartbeat gradually slowed down, she finally won a round!
“The thing I just sent you was merely a little appetizer before the meal. Guess what else I managed to capture?”
Luther fell silent for a moment, only asking after several seconds,
“What did you want?”
“I didn’t ask for much. I wanted the interview rights to Mr. Lestrange, to revoke Rose’s authorization, and to grant it solely to me.”
Luther couldn’t help but grit his teeth, “You’re not asking for much.”
“Think about it,” Abbie said, modulating her tone, now she was in control, “After all, Mr. Lestrange is going to be interviewed anyway, it won’t be a loss to give it to me. I promise, as long as you give me what I want, I will return all the photos and videos to you. We in the news media, we keep our word in this regard.”
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before Luther finally spoke, “Let me think about it, I’ll get back to you later.”
After hanging up the phone, Abbie couldn’t help but feel a bit smug.
Luther’s final confidence, it was clearly no longer sufficient.
He said to think about it, probably just not wanting to kneel so quickly, making it seem like he had lost all his dignity.
Chapter 210 Her Threat Backfires (2)
She put down her phone, opened her bag, intending to take out the mini camera to appreciate what she had captured.
When she had previously encountered that scene, she was so shocked for a moment that she inevitably became flustered.
Took a photo with the phone, but felt it wasn’t right, so quickly started recording with the video camera.
This camera was originally prepared to provide evidence when planning to seduce Luther
Unexpectedly, other merits were indeed established.
“Wait!” Abbie exclaimed, “Where’s the camera?”
She rummaged through her bag, but couldn’t find the camera no matter what.
“No, how could it…how…how is it gone?”
Abbie’s face turned from red to white.
The biggest evidence, it was all in the camera!
In her phone, there was only one blurred photo. Based solely on this photo, it could indeed scare Luther, but it was not possible to successfully threaten him and obtain the interview rights to Wesley.
“Stop the car! Back to the hotel!” Abbie hurriedly instructed the driver. Fortunately, she had just returned to the hotel when she heard from the front desk that someone had found a camera and brought it to the
service desk.
The receptionist took out the mini camera, and upon seeing it, Abbie recognized it as the model provided to journalists by Flourish Media.
She couldn’t help but let out a big sigh of relief.
It was as if even the heavens were helping her..
She had previously worried that it was Rose who had taken the
camera.
This camera was password–protected, ordinary people couldn’t unlock it, but if Rose got it, it wouldn’t necessarily be the case.
When the Finance Department distributed the cameras to the employees, they were set with a uniform password. Abbie casually took one and did not make any changes.
She was about to turn on the camera, first making sure the content inside was safe.
The phone rang.
It was Luther who had called.
“Where are you now?” Luther asked straightforwardly, “If you have time, come up and sign the interview agreement.”
Didn’t expect Luther to give in so quickly!
It seemed that the secret she held in her hand was indeed his Achilles‘ heel.
“I was in the lobby downstairs,” Abbie replied.
“Perfect,” Luther replied, “I had already sent someone down to find
you. You had prepared the things I wanted.”
“I….” Abbie faltered for a moment, immediately telling a lie, “I have already saved the content to my email for backup, signed the contract, I will delete all backups in front of Mr. Sullivan.”
Luther had exceptional execution skills.
Abbie had just hung up the phone when the bodyguard had already identified her, walked over, and escorted her upstairs.
Because she was being followed the entire time, Abbie had no chance to back up the video.

Chapter 210 Her Threat Backfires (3)
Luther was still waiting for her in the previous room.
“Because of the surprise you sent, I made an excuse to cancel the upcoming meeting,” he said with a gloomy expression. “I hope you keep your word, get what you want, and delete what you shouldn’t keep.”
Abbie admonished herself to stay calm.
She sat down across from Luther, extending her hand, “Let me see the contract first.”
Luther took out a contract and placed it in front of her.
“This was originally intended for Ms. Edwards,” Luther said, gritting his teeth in resentment.
It was his negligence…
Unexpectedly, I ended up capturing something so lethal for this
woman.
He was an insignificant little man, even if he was utterly discredited, it didn’t matter. But Wesley, he…
Abbie skimmed through the contract, expressed her satisfaction, took the pen, and signed her name.
“It’s your turn, Mr. Sullivan.”

People in the financial circle knew that Luther was Wesley’s right- hand man. He had been with Wesley for many years, and he could
make decisions on many things without even directly consulting Wesley.
Previously, Abbie had merely admired Luther’s success as an assistant. But today, after witnessing that scene, she finally understood the truth behind it…
“I need to take a look at what you have in your hand first,” Luther requested, “Since you’ve already made a backup, you wouldn’t mind me checking the goods first, would you?”
“Sure.” Abbie didn’t back down.
But she knew Luther didn’t dare to gamble.
She took out the camera directly, connected it to her phone, entered the password, intending to show Luther the content inside.
Five seconds later…
Abbie’s complexion changed.
Inside the camera, it was all blank…
There was nothing!
“What’s wrong? Ms. Sawyer?” Luther observed her expression, “Are you ready?”
“I…wait a moment…” Cold sweat broke out on Abbie’s back, quickly covering her forehead.
Luther sat across from her, having already seen that Abbie’s phone was completely empty.
He sneered, silently picking up the agreement signed by Abbie and tearing it in half.
“Ms. Sawyer, your ability to make something out of nothing is really not that impressive.”
“I…”
“You’re not going to try and fool me again, claiming you have a backup, are you?” Luther threw the torn agreement directly onto Abbie’s face, “Or are you just planning to threaten me with a bluff?”
