Book Synopsis:

Read The Princess to Eight Uncles (Lily and Mr. Crawford) – Lily was forced to kneel in the freezing snow for a full day because her stepmother had suffered a fall, resulting in a miscarriage. As a result, she was exiled from home because her family believed she brought bad luck. However, just as she was at the brink of death, all eight of her uncles arrived in time to save her. The eldest uncle said, ‘It’s time for the Hatcher family to go bankrupt.’ Her second uncle exclaimed, ‘Anyone who harms Lily will be dead!’ Mr. Crawford was so furious that he beat her useless father to a pulp while pleading, ‘So what if she’s the daughter of the Crawford family? She’s a jinx that caused her mother’s death and her father’s bankruptcy!’ Little did they know that as soon as Lily returned to the Crawford family, her luck improved, and even the bedridden Mrs. Crawford regained her strength. Lily was later blessed with an amazing father who loved her dearly.

Chapter 1 Don’t Get Up Until You Apologize

Lambridge City, Promenade 1st Villa Area – the Hatcher Mansion. Today was the Lantern festival. Colorful lights were decorated around the house, giving a touch of warmth to the cold atmosphere of the Hatcher family. Suddenly, a scream echoed across the mansion. “Ah-” Followed by thudding, a large-bellied woman fell from the stairs! Everyone was surprised and hurried toward her. Stephen Hatcher, the president of Ador Hatcher Corporation, quickly asked, “Debbie, are you alright?” The woman’s face turned pale when she saw fresh blood trickling down her legs. Horrified, she replied, “Stephen, it hurts… Our baby… Quickly, save our baby!” The house’s madam, Paula Anderson, panicked and asked, “What happened?!” Debbie looked toward the top of the stairs with tears in her eyes. Everyone looked up and saw a girl, about three years old, standing at the top of the stairs. Upon seeing everyone’s gaze, she hugged the toy rabbit in her arms tightly in fear.

This book was fantastic! I really enjoy fantasy stories… greek mythology, Billionaire, Romance vampires, I love it all… and this book had it all and then some.  Anything fantasy or mythological, was in this book.  I really enjoyed how Cornell was able to bring them all together in a way that was seamless and natural (or at least as natural as made-up things can be).  What I mean is that when I learned these mythological characters were all in it I thought it was a recipe for disaster, but actually it works brilliantly.

The storyline was incredibly interesting and well thought out.  I imagine this story required an awful lot of planning and research.  As I was reading it I thought to myself that this must have taken some time to put together.  When a lot of planning and research is involved there are usually plot-holes (contradictions/missing information), but not in this case, I saw no errors in the complex plot.

The characters were fantastic.  They were relatable and the overall story itself was an incredibly interesting read.  The ONLY reason I am not giving this story a full 5 out of 5 is because of the ‘ease of reading’ factor.  I am an avid reader, I love reading, but even I found this story a little difficult to keep up with. It required my full attention and if I left it more than a day between reading chapters, I was lost. I had to go back in the book and re-read parts just to ‘get my bearings’.  This coupled with the volume of characters made the story a little difficult to read, BUT it was well worth reading.

If you are a Billionaire, lover, you HAVE TO read this book! I guarantee, you will love it.
