Chapter 1 Time-travelled Back

It was late at night, and the rain poured down heavily. The air was filled with the stench of blood. Caroline Winston was covered in blood as she lay in the dark red puddle. Caroline’s flesh was jagged and torn. Her skin was littered with knife wounds and whip marks. Every possible torture method that one could think of was used on her so that she would suffer but not die. Caroline fainted from the pain caused by her fibula breaking, but she was roused by her pain once more. Her originally enchanting face was covered with wounds, making her look extremely ugly. Her long black hair had been cut off, revealing a large patch of scalp. She was in a sorry state. A woman stepped on Caroline’s back and sneered proudly. “Who would have thought that the haughty Miss Winston would end up like this?” The woman looked down, with her eyes filled with viciousness. Who would have thought that Caroline, who was currently struggling to breathe under the woman’s feet, was someone whom the woman had been jealous of just six months ago? “We are both children of the Winston family. But why does everyone love you while I can only live in your shadow? Why? That’s unfair!”
