Chapter 25 Embarrassing Matter
Dominic lowered his body and picked the item up.
It was soft, and it was made of cotton. There was even a nice and faint scent lingering on it that made him restless.
That was Calliope’s undergarment, and it had a simple design. He held it and rubbed against the padding. I wonder how this fits on her body. The size is above average. Who would have thought? She has a small stature, but she’s surprisingly curvy for someone so skinny.
Dominic licked his lips and felt his throat getting dry. He then came back to his senses and was about to shove the laundry into the washing machine when he heard the door opening, followed by Calliope’s voice.
“Dominic, are you home? Gosh, I drank too much water just now. I need to use the bathroom…”
Instantly, their eyes met, and they were both stunned.
Calliope looked at him with a startled expression. After that, her gaze shifted downward, and she spotted the laundry basket beside him. What she saw next was a pile of laundry that needed to be washed, the opened door of the washing machine, and…
Calliope shrieked in shock. Her face instantly turned red, and the redness even spread to her ears.
“Why are you holding that!” She rushed forward and immediately took her undergarment from him. How she wished she could bury her face somewhere now.
Dominic was quite embarrassed himself.
Others would have thought that a burglar had broken into their house with the way that Calliope screamed just now.
Hold up. She won’t think of me as a burglar, right? The kind of perverted burglar that steals undergarments?
Dominic’s expression changed when he thought of that. He cleared his throat and tried to speak to her in his usual tone. “I had nothing to do at home, so I was planning on doing the laundry.”
As for Calliope, she couldn’t even look him in the eye, and her heart was thumping wildly.
“You… Just leave it. I’ll do it.”
“Didn’t you say this is our house? So the chores should be distributed.”
“No! It’s okay. These are my clothes, so I’ll wash them,” Calliope said as she shook her head, looking cute since she was embarrassed.
Dominic gazed at her, and his suppressed restlessness started raging out from his heart again.
“I’m your husband.” He spoke in a low voice, intentionally speaking by her ear. “There’s no yours and mine between a married couple. It’s only right for me to help you with washing your undergarments.”
Calliope’s head was still lowered, and her gaze was uneasy as her breathing hastened.
Dominic’s hot chest got closer to her with that. Calliope was still clenching the undergarment, and she looked meek despite the tense atmosphere, just like a kitten. She really brought out the man’s protectiveness and desire to dominate.
With a sudden force, Calliope was pulled into his arms. An overwhelming kiss that soon followed left her temporarily confused and infatuated.
She didn’t know how to kiss, so she could only respond clumsily when faced with the man’s overwhelming pressure.
Yet, her panic and inexperience made Dominic want to cherish and possess her even more.
Calliope’s face was beet red from the kissing as she breathed heavily, and tears were forming in her eyes. She just looked at him, stunned, because she didn’t know what his next step was.
Are we going to do what we didn’t do during the night of our marriage?
“Dominic…” Her voice was soft, like she was giving him some kind of hint. He felt as if a kitten was gently caressing his heart with its paw.
Dominic then carried her and walked to the bedroom before they tumbled on the bed.
Just when he was about to undress her, his phone rang repeatedly. It was ill–timed. Not only that,
but the caller was persistent, calling as if they knew Dominic would definitely pick up.
Dominic finally let out a heavy sigh, got out of bed, and went straight into the living room. The first thing he did after picking up the call was shout, “What!”
Jonathan, who was at the other end of the line, was startled. He was shocked as he stuttered, “S- Silv… I–Is now not a good time to talk?”
