Marrying The Undercover Magnate Chapter 20 Do You Want Me To Feed You
Calliope’s expression changed, her heart beating fast.
Did he find out about something? Or did he hear through the grapevine that the Gingrich family sent an illegitimate child as a substitute to honor the engagement and that the person he married wasn’t the Gingrich family’s true heiress? Well, it’s a fact that most men hope to marry a beautiful and wealthy lady and not a shabby–looking woman like me.
She lowered her head slightly, her hands fiddling anxiously with her clothes.
Calliope kept reminding herself not to admit she was just a substitute wife. She remembered Dominic had served jail time for assault before.
If he flared up after knowing the truth, the consequences would be dire.
“Huh, what could I possibly wish to tell you?” She looked at Dominic with big bright eyes while she frantically thought of an excuse to change the topic. “Oh, that’s right. My sales performance this month wasn’t up to par, so I must work harder next month! I may not be able to prepare dinner often. Are you able to take care of yourself?”
“Of course. I’m not a kid.” Dominic smiled faintly and passed half of his lobster risotto to her.
Calliope insistently declined. Dominic’s eyes darkened, and he said in a low voice, “Do you want me to feed you?”
Calliope shrunk back at his question and eventually relented.
Soon after, Dominic’s phone vibrated. It was a text from Jonathan.
He cautiously surveyed his surroundings. As expected, he noticed Jonathan standing nearby, looking at him with an evil grin. Beside him was Cyrus, who was trying to contain his laughter by covering his mouth.
“I need to use the restroom,” Dominic told Calliope and headed toward the corner of the hallway
in the restaurant.
When Jonathan saw Dominic coming, he could not bear it any longer. He smiled widely and teased, “What a loving couple you both are! Your heads were almost touching when you shared that plate of lobster risotto… Silv, I didn’t know you were such a romantic person!”
Dominic shot a deadly glare at Jonathan, and the latter immediately shut his mouth.
“Silv, don’t blame him for shooting his mouth off! Frankly, I’m quite surprised as well.” Cyrus laughed lightly. “It seems like you’re getting along quite well with her, no?”
Dominic’s face turned grim.

Cyrus had always been a sensible person and careful with his words. He must have a reason for saying something like that.
Dominic understood what Cyrus was implying. He must be worried that I’ll get too comfortable with Calliope and forget about Yeringham and my original identity.
“I’m just keeping a low profile and biding my time,” Dominic replied nonchalantly. “I treat Ms. Gingrich as a casual partner, and I’m not expecting much from this relationship. Ultimately, I’ll have to leave this place.”
Cyrus laughed in response and did not say anything else.
Jonathan glanced toward Calliope and turned back with a cheeky expression. “Silv, shall I foot the bill for you later?”
“You?” Dominic arched his brows and pondered for a moment. “There’s no need to foot the bill; a discount will be sufficient. Otherwise, she’ll not have peace of mind.”
“Hmm, all right.” Jonathan learned his lesson from earlier and decided to obey Dominic. “I’llet them know about it!”
Dominic’s brows twitched. “This hotel belongs to your family?”
Jonathan scratched his head. “The owner is my uncle!”
“The Bachtel family sure owns a lot of businesses in Jazona!” Dominic commented.
Jonathan straightened his back and had a smug look on his face when Cyrus suddenly stepped on
his foot.
Noticing the look in Cyrus‘ eyes, Jonathan finally came back to his senses and said, “Silv, if you need anything in Jazona, feel free to ask me!”
“Sure.” Dominic placed his hands behind his back and smirked lightly.
Jonathan might have a carefree personality, but he was reliable when handling assigned tasks. Furthermore, Dominic did have some things that he wanted Jonathan to do.
“Help me look into the background of Raindon Corp. Also, there’s this department manager called Melissa or something… I want information about her!”
