Chapter 13
Kara didn’t want to go there at all, but she didn’t dare to refuse. She got out of the car as if with self-awareness, and walked towards the man under the streetlight slowly.
He frowned, glanced at Kara’s legs, and then his eyes fell on her face. He smirked and said sarcastically, “Is this interesting? Ms. Smith, you always claimed to be vigorous, calm, and self-sufficient. But now you’re stalling on purpose.”
Kara gasped and pinched her thigh with her fingers… She knew Shepard firmly believed that she moved slowly because she was stalling on purpose.
She wished that it was really like what he said and she was just stalling.
But the fact…the fact!
Gritting her teeth, Kara quickened her pace. A familiar pain. came, and Kara pinched herself severely.
The man under the streetlight opposite saw her quickening pace, and the corners of his mouth slightly raised… That was right. A toy should look like a toy.
Stretching out his hand and embracing the woman in front of him, Shepard exhaled the last puff of smoke and held the cigarette butt between his fingers. Without looking at it, he stretched it behind him, and immediately a subordinate took.

The next second, a big palm grabbed her chin, causing her chin to hurt.
Shepard grabbed Kara’s chin and swung it up and down a few times, carefully appreciating Kara’s embarrassment with sharp eyes, “Well, Ms. Smith, you used to be an extremely proud woman. When did you become so cowardly? You were greatly humiliated by a taxi driver, but you kept apologizing to him without any dignity at all.”
Kara trembled, and blurted out, “You sent someone to follow me?”
“Well, you’re not too stup*d.”
Kara’s face turned extremely gloomy, and suddenly she laughed silently… She knew it. How could Shepard let her go so easily?
Suddenly, she turned her head, looked at the taxi driver, and said slowly, “Sir, didn’t you ask me if I stole something from someone, and I had nowhere to go because I was being chased?”
She slowly met the taxi driver’s eyes and said, “I stole two lives. I killed his favorite woman and his child.”
Her speaking speed was so slow that everyone here felt that what they were facing was not a young woman in her twenties, but an old woman.
Shepard hated this feeling so much. He felt furious, grabbed Kara’s hand, and shoved her into his car.

She broke free and “ran” towards the taxi driver. She was not technically running. In the eyes of others, she was just walking faster than ordinary people.
When she was about to approach the taxi, a long arm wrapped around her waist, “My money! Without money, how could I…”
“Without money, how could you escape?” A cold voice interrupted Kara’s words, and he asked Kara coldly, “Right?”

“Let go of me! Money!” Kara struggled and shouted at the taxi driver in a hoarse voice, “Give my money back!”
“Hey, you gave me the money. How can you get it back after you gave it to someone else?” Of course, the taxi driver didn’t want to give her money back. Anyway, if this crazy woman had killed the woman and child of that powerful man, she would come to no good end. Why would he be worried?
“Give my money back!” Kara’s eyes turned red, “Please! Please give me my money back! Without money, how can I get there?!” Kara begged sadly and humbly.
Hearing what she said, Shepard was furious!
He couldn’t believe that the person in front of him was Kara!

After being rejected by him coldly, the woman in his memory who had boldly confessed her love to him raised her chin high and told him, “Bonnie is not suitable for you. A woman who is worthy of you should be more confident and strong, like me.”

Shepard stopped suddenly, and glanced at the bodyguard in black with a buzz cut, “Go and check her luggage.. Take all her cash and bank cards.”
