Alison’s Identity of Romance ( Brayden Cornell ) Chapter 52

Chapter 52 He Won’t Succeed Even Until He Dies

‘Where did this come from?” Alison asked. She was not interested in Julia’s affairs, but since Charles showed her this, it meant that what he wanted to tell her was not just about this.

“It was given by a collaborator,” Charles replied without hiding anything. “According to this guy, someone approached him to send out press releases, asking the media to make up stories based on the photos”

At his words, a slight frown appeared on Alison’s forehead. She already knew that Julia was a model, but she lacked ambition and only wanted to take shortcuts, which was why she remained relatively unknown until now. However, being relatively unknown didn’t mean that people wouldn’t pay attention to her once the

press release was out. Even if an amateur became a hot topic due to a scandal, netizens could easily dig all their information, including their addresses.

“Do you want to go back to Imperia?” Charles asked when he saw that she had more or less understood the situation. “There’s still a flight available early in the morning.”

Hearing that, Alison was a little bewildered. “Why should I go back?”

“If my guess is correct, Brayden probably knows that you’re a hacker.” He was considering Alison’s interests wholeheartedly. “Once Julia’s scandal is exposed, he will be the first to suspect you.”

“If leave, he will be even more suspicious of me.” She understood the situation clearly.

He looked at her, confused.

“He has falsely accused me more than once. It doesn’t matter where I am; as long as he doubts me, he will surely come looking for trouble.” Alison gave him an affirmative answer. Not only that, I’m still waiting to receive the divorce certificate.

She used to feel that time pa**ed quickly, and a year would go by in the blink of an eye. However, she felt that time went by painfully slow these days. In less than 30 days, she had experienced the feeling of several years pa**ing.

“Do you need me to help you locate the mastermind?” Charles still had some connections and abilities in that regard.

“That won’t be necessary,” she replied. Earlier in the afternoon, she had looked into Julia’s car accident. “Even if you find them, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the mastermind.”

“What do you mean?” He was startled.

“Do you remember when I was framed for Julia’s previous car accident?” She had discussed this with him during their previous conversation. “This afternoon, I went through the whole accident, but something doesn’t seem right. The evidence ultimately pointed to Brayden’s business competitor as the mastermind. He set up Julia’s car accident and framed me for it, wanting to witness Brayden’s melodramatic family drama.”

Charles was shocked, and there was a hint of surprise on his face.

At the same time, in another private room of the bar, another group was discussing this matter as well. Brayden invited Kian and Raymond out and carefully explained the evidence Alison had found.

After listening to Brayden’s words, Kian smirked and maintained his nonchalant demeanor. “Do you believe in this kind of evidence?”

Meanwhile, Kian expressed his understanding and said, “You said she’s a hacker. Faking evidence would be a simple task for her. Moreover, why would a business competitor do such a thing?” After a pause, he added, “Your soon-to-be-divorced wife seems to be quite careless for poorly faking such evidence”

As Brayden’s lips slightly parted, he said. “As you said, the evidence is poorly faked” Considering Alison’s character, if she wanted to fake the evidence, she would have come up with a perfect justification. This doesn’t add up.

“What did the police say?” Raymond, who had been silent, finally spoke up.

“They haven’t responded yet. It’s probably difficult to catch them.” Brayden’s gaze deepened, for he never imagined that Julia’s matter would be this complicated. Although we have the audio recordings and chat records, it will be difficult to judge if they insist it was all a joke.”

“Is it necessary to invite the two of us out for such a trivial matter?” Kian poured himself a gla** of wine. exuding a wicked charm. “Just be sure to have the bodyguards protect Julia at all times.”

In his opinion, Brayden had gone through all this trouble to explain everything to them because he was afraid the person behind it would target Julia again.

Suddenly, Raymond asked, “Are you planning to divorce Alison?”

Both Brayden and Kian were shocked by his question.

“What kind of question is that?” Kian raised an eyebrow as he leaned back on the couch sluggishly. “His first love has returned. Are you suggesting that he should stay married and let someone else have a happy ending with his first love?”

“This is not some childish game of playing house.” Raymond felt that Brayden’s approach was not right, so he pointed it out as a friend. “If you’re divorcing Alison just because of Julia’s return, I don’t support your decision.”

Before Brayden could respond, Kian spoke up before him. “Are you alright, Raymond?” Has he gone mad?

“Your relationship has always been stable, which indicates compatibility between you two,” Raymond continued, ignoring him. “Have you ever thought about whether you like Julia for the feelings of the past or for who she is as a person?”

Sometimes, one could not let go of a relationship not because he still loved that person, but because he liked the part of himself he invested in that relationship.

“Do you know her well?” Brayden suddenly blurted out.

Raymond couldn’t keep up with the sudden change of topic. “What?”

“You said that Alison and I are compatible, but how did you draw that conclusion?” Brayden’s words. carried a touch of coldness, clearly indicating that something was not right with him. “The past two years of our marriage seemed calm and loving, but it was all just an act she put on.”

Raymond was getting increasingly puzzled.

Suddenly, Brayden stood up, getting visibly angry when he talked about Alison. “Ever since I mentioned about getting a divorce, her true nature has been revealed, and her personality is completely different from before.”

“Are you sure you won’t regret it if you go through with the divorce?” Raymond asked as he looked at Brayden with gentle eyes. As a friend, he could tell that Alison meant something different to Brayden, for he rarely showed emotions, but anything related to Alison was like a spark, making him blow a fuse.

Hearing that, Brayden laughed in exasperation. This was the first time he faced this question seriously, but he replied with a counter-question, “Why would I regret it?”

“Well, Alison is a unique girl.” Raymond didn’t know how to respond and could only say that.

“What you all see is only what she wants you to see,” replied Brayden, infuriated. “I know what kind of person she is better than any of you. Why does everyone think I will regret it? I know Alison far better than they

At his words, Raymond didn’t know what to say. He’s already burning on his own before the ignition.

Then, Brayden continued, as if he were telling Raymond and also reminding himself, “I won’t regret the divorce.”

“Alright, Raymond replied with just one word. He’ll certainly do everything he can to win his wife back before he dies. No, wait-he probably won’t succeed until he goes to the grave.

With that thought in mind, he gave his friend another friendly reminder. “It’s best if you don’t regret it. Based on my brief interaction with Alison, she won’t retrace her steps. With one not turning back and the other not regretting, it’s the perfect parting of ways.”

Hearing that, Brayden didn’t know what to say. Is he trying to provoke me?

Book Synopsis:

Chapter 1 She's Back, So Let's Divorce

At night in Emperor Gardens, Riverton. In the spacious and bright living room, two people sat facing each other. Between them was a divorce agreement. The man wore a well-ironed suit, and he had beautiful features but a cold demeanor. The aura he exuded was so oppressive that the atmosphere around them felt tense. His cold gaze landed on the woman who was silently sitting opposite him, and his orbs were as dark as the night sky outside. "Let's get a divorce on Monday," Brayden Cornell uttered a**ertively in a cold and baritone voice. "Apart from the compensation in the divorce agreement, you can ask for anything else you need from me." "Why so sudden?" Alison Lambert spoke in such a hushed voice he nearly couldn't catch her. "Julia is back," he answered curtly. Of course, she knew who Julia was. After a short moment of silence, she replied, "Sure." Brayden was slightly taken aback as if he didn't expect her to agree to it so willingly. Flipping open the divorce agreement and skimming through the clauses, she was reminded of how she and Brayden met. Two years ago, they met at Nightingale Club. She visited the bar full of worries and bumped into Brayden, who was just dumped by his girlfriend. After taking two shots of drinks, they engaged in a pleasant conversation as if they'd been friends for years. There was no one-night stand, and they returned to their respective homes after enjoying each other's company. She saw him again three days later after that night, and when he brought his a**istant along to propose marriage to her, she agreed readily.
Alison's Identity of Romance

Review by Alison's:

4.5 out of 5

This story gets a 4.5 out of 5.
This book was fantastic! I really enjoy fantasy stories… greek mythology, Billionaire, Romance vampires, I love it all… and this book had it all and then some.  Anything fantasy or mythological, was in this book.  I really enjoyed how Cornell was able to bring them all together in a way that was seamless and natural (or at least as natural as made-up things can be).  What I mean is that when I learned these mythological characters were all in it I thought it was a recipe for disaster, but actually it works brilliantly. The storyline was incredibly interesting and well thought out.  I imagine this story required an awful lot of planning and research.  As I was reading it I thought to myself that this must have taken some time to put together.  When a lot of planning and research is involved there are usually plot-holes (contradictions/missing information), but not in this case, I saw no errors in the complex plot.
The characters were fantastic.  They were relatable and the overall story itself was an incredibly interesting read.  The ONLY reason I am not giving this story a full 5 out of 5 is because of the ‘ease of reading’ factor.  I am an avid reader, I love reading, but even I found this story a little difficult to keep up with. It required my full attention and if I left it more than a day between reading chapters, I was lost. I had to go back in the book and re-read parts just to ‘get my bearings’.  This coupled with the volume of characters made the story a little difficult to read, BUT it was well worth reading. If you are a Billionaire, lover, you HAVE TO read this book! I guarantee, you will love it. Perfect for adults (16+ due to the content) who enjoy:
  • Billionaire
  • Mythology: Greek mythology and mythological characters (Billionaire, Love, Romance, vampires)
  • Learning from reading
  • Getting lost in a complex storyline.
