Chapter 47 I’ve Really Underestimated You, Alison
“Are you sure you want me to look that up? After hearing Alison’s words, James asked tentatively.
Alison gave him an affirmative reply. “Yes.”
Despite his confusion, James agreed. “No problem.”
“Send the results to me once you’re done.”
“Of course.”
After hanging up, Alison put down her phone, pulled up her blanket, and went to sleep.
When Alison woke up the next morning, she saw a message from James. Alison, after investigating throughout the night, I found nothing special. Only one woman has entered his social circle, and she’s also a friend of Kian.
Alison replied, ‘Alright, I got it.’
She didn’t call to ask for more details.
James had been working overnight, so he should be asleep by now. If she called him right now, it might wake him up.
She thought that if she came here with Brayden and stayed put, nothing would happen. However, she underestimated some people’s abilities to cause chaos.
Not long after breakfast, she had just found a charger to charge her phone when she saw Brayden coming back. Behind him was Conner, who had a complicated look on his face.
Brayden’s entire being was shrouded in a cold aura, and his eyes were akin to sharp blades.
He walked toward Alison, and his tailor-made suit made him look much more intimidating. Before Alison thought of anything, Brayden grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the wall, his eyes filled with fury.
“Alison, I thought you were better than this! When you earnestly said that you weren’t the culprit at the hospital, I believed you, but is this how you repay my trust?!”
Brayden was quite strong.
Alison felt that she was in mortal danger, so she raised a leg and kicked him out of reflex. Because of the sheer power, Brayden was forced to release her neck.
Alison coughed violently, and finger marks could be seen on her white, slender neck.
“Have you lost your mind?!” Alison couldn’t control her anger anymore.
The day had only begun, yet he choked her without any warning.
Was this something normal people would do?
Brayden’s eyes were cold, and fury enveloped him. “Why did you send someone to run Julia over? Tell
me!”
“When have I ever done that?” Despite her anger, Alison still heard what he said. “The police have already

captured the suspect, haven’t they? What are you yapping on about?
Rage was consuming Brayden like wildfire
Conner pushed his gla**es, then pursed his lips before saying. “We just received a call from the police station. The suspect who hired the driver to hit Miss Shaw claimed that you were the one who told him to do it.”
According to usual procedures, the police would’ve been here to arrest her already.
However, since Julia had entrusted this matter to Brayden, Brayden stopped the police from arresting Alison after hearing the news from them and said that he would get Alison himself.
“Let’s go to the police station.” Alison didn’t want to waste time arguing with Brayden.
She believed in the law.
She didn’t do it, so no matter how many people accused her without actual evidence, the law would prove her innocent.
“Who are you trying to impress by faking innocence?” Brayden mocked. “Didn’t you clear your name when you behaved like that in the hospital? Are you using the same trick again?”
“You need to get your brain checked.” Alison didn’t expect that she would be framed again. “Do you think shouting at me instead of investigating the entire incident can magically summon the truth?”
“Alison, I’ve really underestimated you.” Brayden’s voice turned even lower.
Meanwhile, Alison’s patience was running out.
Sensing the pressure, Conner didn’t even dare breathe too loudly.
“Do you think I don’t know what you’re planning?” Brayden’s gaze was so deep that its depths were unfathomable.
Alison retorted, “What am I planning?”
“If you went to the police station, with Charles’ capabilities, it’d be a piece of cake to get you out.” Brayden didn’t notice the emotions flashing across his heart when he said that. “He’s a prominent figure in the legal field, and it’d be easy for him to help you clear your name.”
Alison couldn’t even be bothered to talk to Brayden now.
She had never seen a more foolish man!
Seeing that things were going south, Conner bit the bullet and said, “Boss, I think Miss Lambert isn’t someone like that. She-”
“Shut up!” Brayden snarled at him.
Conner could only respond, “Understood.”
Alison’s mind was speeding, and she finally made a decision. “No matter what, do you believe that I’m the one behind this incident?”
“Yes,” Brayden said decisively.
I’ve Really Underestimated You. Alison
Alison met his gaze. “What if I can prove that it wasn’t me?”
Brayden didn’t say anything.
However, his gaze and expression told her that he was certain she was behind this, he wouldn’t believe anything else other than that.
“If I can prove that I didn’t do it, you have to kneel and apologize to me, then kowtow to me 10 times,” Alison said. Her patience was already at its limit.
Brayden said coldly. “If you can’t prove it, you have to kneel and apologize to Julia, then kowtow to her 10 times”
Conner was panicking.
Can they stop making such a huge fuss out of it?! he thought.
Alison averted her gaze and looked calmly at Conner instead. “Lend me your laptop.”
“Give it to her,” Brayden ordered.
Conner did as he was told.
Ahson turned on the laptop, and when the screen lit up. Conner wanted to tell her the pa**word.
However, with just a few taps on the keyboard, Alison unlocked the laptop.
Conner was shocked, whereas Brayden frowned a little.
Alison placed the laptop on the table, switching to another position before scouring for information.
No one noticed that when the laptop was running, the letter K flashed on the left side of the screen. That was Alison’s codename, the codename for the King of Hackers.
She had never thought of using this technology before.
However, now that things had come to this point, if she didn’t find out the truth, she would only be framed again and again.
While she was carrying out her investigation, James knew of it as well.
James had spent the night looking for information, and he went to bed after sending Alison the message. However, he couldn’t go to sleep every time after he pulled an all-nighter, so he simply lay in bed for a bit before getting up.
When he saw Alison’s message, he was about to respond when he suddenly saw the letter K flashing on the screen of his computer.
James was shocked.
Goodness! Is Alison making her move?!
He grabbed his phone and was about to call Alison to ask about the situation, but he stopped.
Alison was busy right now, so he would be interrupting her thoughts if he called her.
I’ve Really Underestimated You, Alison
Either way, he shouldn’t call her.
Nonetheless, he was terribly curious!
What had possibly pushed Alison to make her comeback, and at such a time as well?
After thinking about it for a bit, he decided to send this piece of gossip to the Dwarves’ group chat.
Everyone in the chat knew about Alison’s identity.
James typed, ‘Come out, everyone! I have breaking news! Alison is back in the game!”
He continued, ‘My greatest idol, K!’
